hey hey! 27days to go! so excited!! wanna eat cha kway tiao, yu yuan mian, hor fun, ba cuo mee, mee siam, roti prata etc etc.... and of course, BAN LI!!!!!!

i've been doing repetitive job for the past one wk, making shadow board after shadow board, bending steel plate, cutting steel plate, weilding, drilling.. suddenly become a production workers. haha.. I'm making a tools storage area for every machine, it doesnt seems important but it can help to save some money for the company and building a fundamental for LEAN production according to a book called "toyota production system".
Let's say every tools dun have a fix place, when the workers need a hammer for example, he is going to search the whole factory just for that. If everyday each worker spend 1hr(normaly they take longer) looking for tools, do your math:

one month pay--> 3000rmb
one month work --> 20days
one day earn --> 3000/20 = 150rmb
one hr earn --> 150/8(8hrs per day) = 18.75rmb
500 workers --> 500x18.75 = 9375rmb

9375rmb lost per month!(doesnt seem alot? To a company in china, it is)
And that's not all, it also means that your production is slow(500 workers x 1hour per day = 500hours lost), 500hrs lost per day. That is all money! failed to deliver the product on time = money gone! which also means more workers needed to cover up.

having a place for everything, and keeping everything in place is the key(according to toyota).

Recently there is "tai Feng" in guang zhou area, hmmm.. not too bad, only 150 ppl missing, LOL. beening raining for 2days, which means free air con at night!

Guang zhou pollution is Super Bad! I saw a bus leaving a bus stop just like a octobers escaping from its predator.. LOL. leaving behind a Hug cloud of black smoke! maybe its a system that stop ppl from boarding the bus last min. haha.

The locals got weird way of doing things, they like to do the "substitution method". For example if there's no hammer in sight, they will use a stone.. If there's no skate board, They use water melon's skin....HAHA! If there's no hair dryer? i'll post the pic next time. haha.

I'm assigned a task to research on Mean time to Failure(MTTF) and Mean time between failure(MTBF), Gosh! University student dont even learn that! all the Chim CHim calculation. *faint* My manager says that you only will learn it when you are taking your master..

I'm quite busy recently making some changes here and there making things easier for the production workers，apart from that i am watching alot of movies from a website that is dedicated for people in foshan, i think its because people in foshan got nuth to do at night, no night life. haha...

Yesterday i went Roller SKATE with some of the locals here. They can really skate very well, i think its because people here got nuth to do at night go skate and skate everyday. LOLZ
i fell down a couple of times, NOOB dunno how to skate. lolz

Erm... erm sister, mum and dad. stop reading now k? i dun wan u to have heart attack. lolz

I totally agree with alex, we're living in this imperfect
world with imperfect people, you and me we are all imperfect
. But i'm taking a step at a time, changing myself into a better person each day.

when you are having problems working with anyone everyone, den maybe its time to start thinking about changing youself. you just cant expect the whole world to change for you.

It is not easy to forgive the same person again and again almost up to 4times a week.
but Cold did.
some people might say "i forgive and forget". But i say forget is almost impossible. talk is always cheap. Do you rmb the time when you had a fight with you best friend? found out your gf/bf cheat on you? haha.

While some people might think that it is not right to express your anger thru blog. but i think It's not wrong to be moved in our emotions. We're created with emotions. But we should not be led by them. COLD is not.

well after much praying and fasting. Things finally become much better. COLD HOT working together coming out with solution to solve problem..

My production manager(IVAN). wanna change the company into LEAN production( a way to manage the production, making it more efficent, hence save cost), but a certain risk is involve for the General manager to make such a decision. hence My production manager me and zena, is trying to convince the GM by coming out with a proposal.
Coming out with a LEAN Plan is easy, but executing is tough as all the production workers is stuck in a mind set that they refuse to change(dun put things in correct place, tools anyhow throw, walk around dont work etc etc).
I manager to come out with my own theory, COlD's theory/plan which explain why the workers don't follow simple instruction?
The theory abit long le. will try to post it next time. haha..
i talk to my manager about the plan, and he say that its a good observation and it is above expectation from a poly student. praise God!Everynight i'm praying that God will bless me with Creativity, ideas, widom, So that i can always be a light that shine for HIm. :)

Oh btw. what trigger me coming out with Cold's theory/plan is simply observing a china man eating ice cream on bus, and how did he dispose the ice cream stick. LOLZ!
That observation allow me to understand how a guy living in china think, how he react to environment, and how come some rules he obey and some rules he did not.
Very Chim ar... maybe i think too much.. LOLZ..

I want to make a difference here in fabristeel b4 i leave.

In this life you will face and deal with all sorts of people, he/SHE may be a Christian or CATHOLIC, chinese speaking or ENGLISH speaking, malay or CHINESE.. whatever...Well.. if you are working with him/HER to do a PROJECT, what you guys need is TEAMWORK... without teamwork or a COMMON OBJECTIVE, nothing could be done.

Working together is not about PROVING your own ways of thinking is correct to the other person. By doing so it will block out ideas from another point of view.
Working together is not about one PERSON doing things till he/SHE is stuck, before he/SHE ask "so do you have any comment?"

To do a good project, both party must have HIGH EQ, good COMMUNICATION, speak with words that is season with SALT.

My manger's story

My manager(Ivan) went through Depression after one week here in foshan fabristeel!. Why?

1 -At night got nuth to do. walk around the whole industry park alone, Drinking 20 bottles of beer per day.

2 -The nearest hospital is about 50km away, hence he dont dare to eat any food here. breakfast eat one apple. lunch eat two apple. dinner eat three apple. laugh!

3 -My general manger teach him how to drive to Guang zhou city to have some fun. but didnt toldhim the way back.. he is lost in guang zhou for 3hrs.

4 -weekend got nuth to do. follow farmer to pluck long ann. doing some sort of quality check(pluck and eat).

ha ha ! that' why

recently china network got problem cannot go blogger.com starhub.com. arghhh.
last wkend i went shopping AGAIN. because my manger going hong kong. we just took MRT around the city anyhow find those shopping places.

Today i'm assigned my MAJOR PROJECT! yes! objective is to "Assist the company in setting up the fundamentals of being LEAN"
you may ask "what is LEAN?" long story. go check it out yourself. lol.

My focus for this project will be:
1.creating Jig and fixtures
2.Identification of a list of problem in the factory

hmm. I pray that wisdom creativity and idea will come upon me. =)

ah. In china i cant upload pic into blogger...dunno what went wrong.. must be china government.

Anyway two days ago i got caught by the General Manger not wearing goggles in the "green area". I didnt know i need to wear that because of the stupid chinese sign board didnt catch my attention at all. GM is so serious about this that he told me to write a report why i didnt wear goggles, I just wrote abt 5 line telling him that i dunno, "Bu zi ze wu jui" mah!

last wk end i went to a place where they sell fake stuff, than i happen to saw this omega watch for 490rmb, i asked afew question like how much?, kinetically powered watch? bla bla bla....
i'm not very interested in that watch, just thinking of buying it for my dad. Before i walk out of the place that lady bug me to buy, after some "Ee Ee orh Orh" she asked me " Ni you mei you xin mai ah? you xin jiu kai yi ge jia ah(direct translate : you got heart to buy or not, if got just give me a price)",i just say "wo mei you xin mai".. She totally Sianz. haha!
My manager say u should have say " wo you xin mai, hao ah, yi quai($1)" hahaha..

Yesterday in my hostel while i'm reading my bible, my room mate ask me what am i reading, den i manage to share the gospel to him. yeah man! actually he know quite alot about it.

Monday i'm assigned a task together with a china guy. The way he do things is....erm how should i put it....hmm.. its just stupid laaaa. I suggest him " erm maybe we do it this way", he say " erm no no cannot like that", den i'm like"oh ok".... den i suggest something to him again"lets do it this way" he reject my idea again.... i'm thinking "maybe he more experience than me". After we complete the whole thing, it looks awful la!
Den he say... "haiya we should have done it that way"... which is those things that i suggested to him...

WOAH! today got ALOT Of mosquito CAN????
i killed 40 in one hr, highest mosquito killed per hour so far. Now i dun just kill those mosquito that come after me, but i go after mosquito, hunt for them... Wooohoo.
It become a sports to me... My Goal... is to Convert killing mosquito into a sport in olympic. bei jing 2008 should include this sport since china got so many mosquito! woo..

Now i could catch a mosquito alive just with one hand! as fast as lighting! i think after my attachment i can catch a bullet with barehand too. HAHA

I Torture all the mosquito i killed, how? electricute them with the zapper(below... with protective goggle HAHA!) i brought, until there is a spark! sometimes the whole corpse disapear, in chinese it is call "fen shen sui gu" HAHA!

I made a Coffin for all mosquito! woohoo! can track down all mosquito i killed, and do a massive furneral at the end of my attachment! haha!

5th wk in china.
i found out lots of diff between a singaporean and them, that is their efficiency is super low, but they still looks busy. My manager say:" China is a stupid Place, the ppl here is stuck in their own mindset, if give me a chance i wont want to come here, they looks busy, act busy, Become busy".
erm.. i agree with the Looks busy act busy become busy.

People in the office looks busy, but with nuth better to do, i observe them and found out that they aint busy at all, they just keep make sure that every part of their body is moving example.

I saw one guy clicking around on the desktop, maybe helping microsoft to find some bugs). 3. keyboard(what else? I always heard my manager scold china " stupid China, u think i want to come this place? give me a choice i wont come here!".
Now i realise, really stupid china la. i got a fake 50dollars note can? pengz! looks super like real la! Everything also got fake one, fake money, fake car, fake books, fake coke, fake EGGS, fake CD, Fake DVD, Fake police, fake fake fake... the list goes down even longer den great wall. Lolzz
And i tell u, their fake stuff is Super real la.they are not stupid after all, Haha...
This wk end i went to City again, go china's k box.. it is call" ge ge". the place not bad sia! better then k box, just that the system not very gd, spending half of gthe time finding the song i wanna sing haha.
brought levis jeans for 90rmb, and a levis shirt for 50rmb. so cheap!

On sunday i went to the Spore club in guang zhou, which invite all singaporean for lunch... sianz.. 55rmb go there eat Bee hoon, talk rubbish. argh.

Ohhh. Alot ppl asking hows the church there.. hmmmm guess what, the nearest Government controled church is like 100km away from where i live. and Its Government COntroled. haha.

Today Zena Lock herself outside, she left her key inside the room and her room mate took leave for one wk... she dun need to bath for one wk liao. haha. den everyone is trying to brk into her room, she likes so worry la. kept on saying "ze me ban ze me ban.. I'm BACK!
Leaving on friday to my manager's house and stayed overnight. Woooo Save $$$$, Dun need to stay in Hotel. HAHA! Normally it will be about 1hr plus ride, but Just because he made a wrong turn, its abt 2hr ride. -____-". The Ring road LONGGGGGGGG, its like travel from changi airport to tuas, this is what i call eXpressss.

The manager's house is Great! Bigger den SPore Condo, super NICE, but kinda small, for all those Rich china ppl. Ivan(my manager) got two kid, i call them Mel Mel(boy) and mei mei(girl).

Saturday we went to shop that sell REAL stuff at rock bottom PRice! i Brought a levi's jean, a Boss long sleeve Shirt, a dissel T shirt, a quiksilver T shirt, a billabong T Shirt, a levi's belt. ALL for only s$80!!!! COOOOLLLL.(david if u are reading this, u Sure very sianz. Come Guang zhou find me laaaa. LOLZ). I brought "Da Vinci Code" and its super boring can! zena watched till she fell asleep. haha!

Sunday we want to a high Class Restaurant for Dim sum. Den to supermarket where i brought all my mosquito killing equipment KILL THEM ALL!! LOlz!. During the whole 3days i'm gaven another nickname call the "melquito hunter" because i'm running around like crazy chasing after melmel. HAHA.

I decide to having a mosquito counter to count how many mosquito i have killed so far in china. :)

web night i played basketball with some of the production workers, they got weird rules and they dun play basketball well, shen quan one person can OWN them. Haha
But i just play along, Do some sports to keep myself not fat. hahaGosh talking abt this, I think i'm Getting heavier Man! There's only Table tennis and basketball here, and basketball is super dirty!!!!

Finally i got my hands on the welding equipment, i made a structure to hold my "mosquito netting", ehhh actually not really i made it, i watch ppl made it for me. HAHA.
But i Learn how to weld by join two 1mm stainless steel together. i'll upload the pictures Next time. :)

today having a chit chat session with my manager again. from 9am to 12pm. LOLZ

Crap! yesterday i'm alone in office and stayed till about 130am... and guess what.. i heard weird noises....Initially i heard the door in front of me knocked 3times, i speak in tougue and dun really care.den i heard a loud noise from behind the office, i check it out and its something from the table dropped, at a condition of no wind no nuth.-__-"i dun really care, continue my MSN Lolz.i heard the door knocked 3 times again. i dun care. i went to fill my water bottle den i heard water and weird noise(sounds like a dog that is being torture or some kinda weird lang) in the girl toilet...I just dun care man.Den when i started to feel abit uneasy, i pack up and while i'm packing up i heard weird noise again.. den the door in front of me knocked 3 times again. Man i kinda freak out.LolzI quickly walk back to my room while on the phone with mayber man.Lolz. i kept praying till i fell asleep.

Its been 2days since i last blog. i'm away from the boring factory, going over to guang zhou city, we set off around 930am took a bus and reach the MRT station at 11am. Gosh! 1.5hour bus ride, its like taking bus number 30 from bedok to Boon lay!

On the way, i got some rubbish wanna throw but i cant find a bin, after walking like 500m i starting to feel like there is no rubbish bin within 5km, den my fren told me he found the it.......

There u go, the rubbish bin -___-". That's a drain man, they choke the whole drain with rubbish*throw the rubbish into the drain*. Den i got revelation, Everywhere is a rubbish bin, ppl throw things on the floor like nobody business, got lots of banana skin, water melon, shit, rotten meat etc on the floor... GOSH! GET Me Out of There!!

upon reaching the China's MRT station(yes they got MRT station), i brought the ticket it looks like a coin.(below)

we Manage to reach the hotel, but cant check in because me and zena forgot to bring out passport and they dun allow us to stay over without a passport, but we play around with the rules, jerry check into a double bed room, den me and zena just Rush into the room after 30min or so. I FELL asleep instantly, jerry and zena is like -___-" after i woke up i found out they are slpin too! PIGGYss.

Alright i can explain why i wear that "ah pei" shirt. To make sure i'm not a target for pick pocket, i purposely wear like "ah pei" stripes T shirt cause the ppl in foshan is very poor, wearing shirts with holessssss. On the way there i saw ppl staring at me, its kinda scary man, i held on to my belonging tightly. and gave them a "ah beng" look.. LOLZ.. and pai seh things is when i reach guang zhou city, everyone dressing is so COOL la. i so pai seh can? like ahpei walking on orchard road like that. -___-". i got some stares too.......

BORING! boring boring day.
people been asking, what are doing in china? what is your normal routine? ok i tell u.
early morning wake up at 7am, bath brush teeth.
740am:have brkfast
8am:start work
8-12pm: wait for lunch
12-130pm:lunch time
130-530pm:waiting to knock off
530pm:knock off
530-7pm:wait for dinner
7pm:dinner time
7-11pm:waiting for msn(my fren is using)
11pm-12am:MSN time.

So fruitful right? lolz.. basically its just--> brkfast, lunch, dinner, msn. LOLZ ok la. got some work to be done. abit here and there la. not so bad. LOlz

Its amazing how the chinese here drive, one way road i saw another car drivin in another direction, the best part is the Traffic police is playing chess under a tree saw that didnt even care. Nowonder the chinese is good at playing chinese chess. LOLZ. Den my manager made a U turn in the middle of the highway..... -____-" so cool.
Red light? who cares! just go and horn All the way! lolz! and i heard that guang zhou city ban car from horning. lolz.

Oh btw i'm in living in foshan, somewhere near guang zhou city. Its the place where Huang Fei hong used to live.Early in the morning i heard ppl shouting, and guess what? i saw them practicing some kinda boxing(western), "Tiu huang fei hong de nian" haha!

The people here smoke like there is no tml, like some kinda medication:

haha..i'm a passive SMoker!!!! RUN!!

yesterday i didnt get to slp well. got abt 8 mosquito bite, it wake me up at 330am, 530am. -_-" i make sure that i'll kill all the mosquito in china b4 i come back to spore. LOLZ

Today i wake up early and rush to canteen for the first time and grab a bun, it's not as bad as i think, but kinda oilly la.
HEy the clock in system is much better den spore la! its using ezlink system, tapping it using my staff pass.

We manage to complete the "kan ban"(basically its a management board la" just before Lunch time, den i have lunch at a high class restaurant with the General manager of spore, General manager of China and the assistant manager Wooo all the big shot, by faith next time i'll do business with them. Lolz, have the most expensive lunch ever in china it cost about $20spore dollars.

That's ALOT in china already man, the manager really treat us very well, thx God for that :)

During the lunch the assistant manager told me that they will be having a meeting from 2pm to 4pm.... u know what that mean? that mean it is time for me to slack!! LOLZ
i play computer games, go MSN relax. bla bla bla..

The food here is super salty k?. i think it is due to the fact that foshan is near the sea, they got lots of salt available. Lol. The dinner i have it outside of the factory as usual, didnt even dare to try the canteen's food. Beer to them is like water, So CHEAP! cheapest is about 40cents spore dollars per bottle can? the High class beer is just abt $3 per bottle! all the ah pek in spore listen up, u can come china live liao, dun need waste money go kopitiam drink tiger beer so ex! haha!
and guess what, i dun drink beer but every dinner with the manage they will offer me beer, and i cant reject it because my assistant manage told me that beer to them is like "manhood", if they offer u beer, and u reject him its like "bu gai mian zi" -___-". so what i do is i drink abit and leave the beer there till they leave. Lol.

i reach my hostel, but my room mate wasnt around, so i take the time to have my QT! Wooohooo. Love His presence! God answer my prayer, guide me thru this time..

I finally know why the ppl in china come out with so many "si" and come out with what "sun zi ping fa" or what "Chuan Qian ming yuan guang...." why? i think is because they got nuth to do le, at night very boring lo, look at moon whole day den think of "si" Chuan Qian ming yuan guang..bla bla bla. Lolz..

Today i woke up late! my room mate didnt even bother to wake me uP! so selfish.
750am woke up 8am sign in. good thing is my card aint ready, so dun need to clock in. haha.

i walk around as usual. listen to my manager talking as usual. finally got my own desk, cool. i slack there looking at chinese document(the pic on the right) as if i know how to read, but actually i'm day dreaming life at spore. LOLZ!!

i'm having lunch outside the factory as usual, the manager says that food in the canteen is cannot make it de... i didnt even dare to try. haha.. while my manager was talking to me in his office. i manager to take some pic of him.. haha! (Left). poor jerry is listening to him. but actually he quite interesting de la. LOL

I'm given the first assignment TODAY, cool, but its just drawing. -_-"
nevertheless. its still a brk thru. hahaa. after that we went to the Bank, gonna apply for bank account, filling in the address can kill me! its so LONG!!! its like

Alright. I'm having limit time using the net, cause my manager is away, and i manage to use his computer, to cut things short and sweet b4 he is back. lolz

first of all really wanna thanks all of u who send me off, very gan Dong! haha! but i very pai seh, dunno what to say la. sorry le. actually got alot of things i wanna tell u all de, but suddenly lost of words what to say, 2nd day only really really really miss of u all!!!! 2ndly the stupid flight is delayed for 2hr i'm stuck at airport, and we go have subway as our brkfast.

Went to whitesand and downtown east, pay a visit to my Friends which are still working there. after that i went to service, Rev Casey Treat share a simple yet great msg with us,that renewing my mind. And that is my last service for the next 3.5months. :( enjoying every moment of it. :)

today i found myself travel around aimlessly.

11am--> Found myself late(AGAIN). Receive A SMS in the morning, found our that my friend is not meeting me because her eyes is swollen.

1pm --> going bedok interchange buying batt, and some travel adaptor.

230pm --> reach sch, meeting up with POS's friend, saw darren playing guitar showing off one of his tactic that he learned from SOMMK(school of mei mei killer). then BEn join darren showing off their ultimate mei mei killing tactic, two guitar playing together at the same time, one of them playing bass. what's the song? Now and Forever by richard marx. its a Sure KILL! HAHA!

i begin to walk around sports hall, stone wherever i go. feeling quite moody, dunno why, maybe i'm leaving to china soon.

445pm--> met up with my sec sch fren, pass me two present, one of them she told me cannot open until i'm on the plane, i'm like -_-" ok. HAHA.
chit chat abit about what to bring and expect there.
